Gastric Bypass Surgery

Hi I am 23 years old and last Thursday I had Gastric Bypass Surgery. It's still setting in that I had the surgery. For the first time in my life I feel that I'm in control of my life. Before the surgery I weighed 282lbs and 38 percent BMI at 5'11. The main reason I chose to do this was because my brother is 25 and is has a lot of health problems. My father does also and I felt if I didn't do this now my health would soon worsen as time goes by. My father didn't want me getting the surgery nor did my friends because they were afraid of the risk involved. It is now 6 days after surgery and I can already feel my body changing. I try to walk 3 times a day. It use to be that I would eat and eat for pleasure and not stop. Now, I only eat to maintain energy even though I never feel hungry. Also I only eat a small amount of food and I don't feel that I have the desires like I did for food. I'm so glad God has given me a second chance at life and this time I'm going to be health for the rest of my life. I feel like I've been reborn.
